| Presently, truth is clearly winning out over beauty
as is evidenced by these "unbeautiful" paintings which
are part of a larger series of archetypes. They are flawed, edgy,
hurt, yet sincere. Like real humans they possess
paradoxical qualities; opposites working simultaneously. Their visual
metaphors attempt to go beyond the specific, hopefully, to lead
us downward into the depths of our selves and to awaken new areas
of the psyche.
